Extrafine Handmade Watercolor Green Earth

Our Extrafine Handmade Watercolor Green Earth is prepared with pure Green Earth inorganic mineral pigment, chemically double alumosilicates of alkaline metals. It is constituted mainly by two related green minerals, celadonite and glauconite. This is an historical pigment use since antiquity times, a natural mineral dull green that allowed painters to highlight figures and drapery with bright colors.

The Extrafine Handmade Watercolor Green Earth is made in Italy by Nila Colori and is prepared with this pure pigment, is very transparent, has low tinting strength, and very lightfast.

Green Earth pigment is milled with just the right amount of a mixture of Kordofan gum arabic (binder) and vegetable glycerin (humectant and plasticyzer). These are the ingredients which are historically the main characters in the production of the watercolors and which give the best results regarding ease and pleasantness of painting. We don’t add any filler or any other organic compound, which might alter the color over time.
