Our extrafine single pigment watercolor Genuine Celadonite is prepared with pure Celadonite pigment, a natural earth, constituted by metal silicates: iron silicate is the one giving its typical green color. It has all the properties of natural glass: transparency and low tinting strength. It's one of the main components of Green Earth, which has been used since millennia all over the World.
Genuine Celadonite watercolor by Nila Colori®, prepared with this pure pigment, is extremely lightfast, transparent and has a low tinting strength.
Celadonite pigment is milled with just the right amount of a mixture of Kordofan gum arabic (binder) and vegetable glycerin (humectant and plasticyzer). These are the ingredients which are historically the main characters in the production of the watercolors and which give the best results regarding ease and pleasantness of painting. We don't add any filler or any other organic compound, which might alter the color over time.
