Genuine Lapis Lazuli Extrafine Watercolor

Description

Our extrafine single pigment watercolor Genuine Lapis Lazuli is prepared with the inorganic mineral Genuine Lapis Lazuli pigment, the famous blue which offers an interesting granulation in watercolor. This pigment has been used since centuries in the fine arts, pure as it is or purified to obtain the natural ultramarine. We prepare it from finely powdered pure stones coming from Afghanistan, without any addition.

Genuine Lapis Lazuli watercolor by Nila Colori, prepared with this pure pigment, is extremely lightfast, transparent and has a low tinting strength.

Genuine Lapis Lazuli pigment is milled with just the right amount of a mixture of Kordofan gum arabic (binder) and vegetable glycerin (humectant and plasticizer). These are the ingredients which are historically the main characters in the production of the watercolors and which give the best results regarding ease and pleasantness of painting. We don’t add any filler or any other organic compound, which might alter the color over time.
