This is an historical pigment from <strong>contemporary<\/strong><strong>\u00a0age<\/strong> which was prepared for the first time by the Parisian Pannetier and his assistant Binet in 1838. In 1859, the French chemist C.-E. Guignet developed a different production method to prepare the chrome-based green pigment. In France, the pigment was called vert \u00e9meraude while in England it was called viridian, named after the Latin word virid- \u201cgreen, flourishing, vigorous\u201d. This is one of the <strong>most appreciated<\/strong> pigments by the <strong>Impressionists<\/strong> and it was the favorite green shade of the French painter,<strong> Paul C\u00e9zanne<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The <strong>Extrafine Handmade Watercolor Chromium Viridian<\/strong> is made in Italy by Nila Colori and is prepared with this pure pigment, is extremely <strong>lightfast<\/strong>, has low <strong>tinting strength, covering power<\/strong> and <strong>brightness<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Chromium Viridian<\/strong> pigment is milled with just the right amount of a mixture of<strong>\u00a0Kordofan gum arabic<\/strong> (binder) and <strong>vegetable\u00a0glycerin<\/strong>\u00a0(humectant and plasticyzer). These are the ingredients which are historically the main characters in the production of the watercolors and which give the best results regarding\u00a0<strong>ease and pleasantness of painting<\/strong>.
