This is a natural earth which is colored by a form of hematite which naturally owns a violet shade.\u00a0It&#8217;s the natural version of the famous &#8220;<strong>caput mortuum<\/strong>&#8220;, traditionally obtained in laboratories by means of calcination of iron salts at high temperatures.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The <strong>Extrafine Handmade Watercolor Armenian Violet Ochre<\/strong> is made in Italy by Nila Colori and is prepared with this pure pigment, is<strong>\u00a0extremely lightfast<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>semi-transparent <\/strong>and\u00a0has a <strong>medium to low tinting strength<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Violet Ochre\u00a0pigment is milled with just the right amount of a mixture of<strong>\u00a0Kordofan gum arabic<\/strong> (binder) and <strong>vegetable\u00a0glycerin<\/strong>\u00a0(humectant and plasticyzer). These are the ingredients which are historically the main characters in the production of the watercolors and which give the best results regarding\u00a0<strong>ease and pleasantness of painting<\/strong>.
